A vintage flat octagonal shaped carnelian brooch set in 935 Silver, the carnelian is almost translucent and set in a very fine beaded edge silver mount.
On the reverse is a plaque with some unusual markings, 935 (to indicate silver purity) and also some letters (see close up image). The letters appear to be an 'L', an 'M'?, and '&Co' spaced around what looks like an animal head.
